CyberLink Power Media Player Help
Welcome to the CyberLink family of digital media software. CyberLink Power Media Player is the complete media player for Android devices.
Select the Music option to listen to music, Video to watch videos, or Photo to view photos in slideshows.
Power Media Player Activation
If you have the free Bundle version of Power Media Player, you must activate it with a serial number from CyberLink PowerDVD before you can use the program. Once activated, you will have access to all the features, including CyberLink Cloud (if you have a subscription to PowerDVD Live).
Note: if you have the full paid version of Power Media Player, activation is not required. However, the CyberLink Cloud feature is not available to you.
To activate the Bundle version of Power Media Player, do this:
- Open your copy of CyberLink PowerDVD.
- Click on the Home Media (DLNA) tab in the media panel, and then select Power Media Player.
- Find the Serial number provided on this tab, and enter it when prompted in Power Media Player.
Supported Media Formats
CyberLink Power Media Player supports the playback of music, photos, and videos. The exact supported file formats is completely dependent on the device you are running the program on.
Please consult the user manual for your device for a complete list of the supported file formats.
About Power Media Player
Select the
button in the bottom right corner of the home page to access the About Power Media Player window. In this window you can:
- view version information for CyberLink Power Media Player.
- select Home Media Share Settings to set the content on your device that is shared on a home media network and more. See Home Media Sharing Settings for more information.
- select CyberLink Cloud* Settings to configure how CyberLink Power Media Player uploads and downloads media to the CyberLink Cloud service. See CyberLink Cloud* Settings for more information.
- select Help to open this help file.
Note: * CyberLink Cloud is a cloud service from CyberLink that is currently only available to users who have a subscription to PowerDVD Live.
In CyberLink Power Media Player, not only can you access the media that is on your device, but also the media available on CyberLink Cloud and shared on a home media network server.
By default, CyberLink Power Media Player displays the media that is on your device. If you'd like to view the media in another location, select the
button (or swipe left from the right side of the media window) and then select:
- My Device to view all the media that is on your device.
- CyberLink Cloud* to view media that was previously uploaded to your space on CyberLink Cloud.
- Home Media to view the media that is shared on a home media network server.
Note: * CyberLink Cloud is a cloud service from CyberLink that is currently only available to users who have a subscription to PowerDVD Live.
Every time CyberLink Power Media Player is launched, it automatically imports all the latest media files on your device's SD card into the media library, ensuring it's up to date.
To view the media on your device, just select My Device in the Media Location side panel.
CyberLink Cloud is a cloud service from CyberLink that is available to users who have a subscription to PowerDVD Live. You can stream and play back this media using CyberLink Power Media Player, or download it to your device.
You can also upload the videos and photos on your device's SD card to CyberLink Cloud. This allows you to back up this media, and make it available for playback anywhere.
Note: the uploading of music files to CyberLink Cloud is not currently supported in CyberLink Power Media Player.
To view the available media on CyberLink Cloud, just select CyberLink Cloud in the Media Location side panel. You will be asked to sign in with the CyberLink ID and password you used to subscribe to PowerDVD Live.
Once you are signed in, select one of the tabs at the bottom of the window to view the Folders on CyberLink Cloud, or select Playlists to see the available media playlists that were uploaded.
If your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network, select Home Media in the Media Location side panel to view all the media on the network. CyberLink Power Media Player searches for all the PowerDVD media servers connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your device.
Select a home media server to view all the shared media on it. Select one of the tabs at the bottom of the window to browse through All the media, or select Folders to browse to an individual media folder.
The music function in CyberLink Power Media Player lets you play back the music on your device, CyberLink Cloud*, and shared on a home media server. You can also create music playlists, share and download music, and much more.

Viewing Music in the Library
Select Music on the home page to open the Music window. If required, select the
button (or swipe left from the right side of the Music window) to change the location of the music you want to access. See Media Location for more information.
Select one of the tabs at the bottom of the window to sort the music in the library by Artists, Albums, or by Songs. Select the Playlists tab to view all the created music playlists. See Creating Playlists for information on creating playlists.
Note: if you want to delete music from your device's media library, just select the
button at the top of the window and then the check boxes next to the music files you want to delete. Next, select the Delete button to finalize the deletion of the files.
Playing Music
To begin playing music, select an album, artist, folder, or playlist in the library to display all the songs within. Select a song in the list to begin playback.
During music playback, the following controls are available:
- select to repeat all the songs in the album, playlist, folder, or for the selected artist.
- select to go to the previous song in the album, playlist, folder, or for the selected artist.
- select to pause playback of the current song.
- select to go to the next song in the album, playlist, folder, or for the selected artist.
- select to shuffle all the songs in the album, playlist, folder, or for the selected artist.
To adjust the volume, select the speaker icon
at the top of the playback window. During playback you can also select a position on the playback process slider to jump ahead or back in the song, if required.
Select the
button to close the playback window and return to the main music window. Mini playback controls will display in the bottom right corner, as playback continues while you browse through other media. Select
to return to the home page of CyberLink Power Media Player if required.
Streaming Music to a Device (Play to)
With CyberLink Power Media Player you can stream the music on your device, and play it back on a device that is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
To stream music on a home media network device, do this:
Note: you may have to give permission on the home media network device for another computer to control its media player before you can play media on it.
- Browse to the music in the library that you want to play and then select the
button at the top of the window.
- Select the check box next to the music files you want to play back.
- Select the Play to button and then choose the home media network device you want to stream the music to.
- Use the available playback controls to control the playback of the music.
Note: select the
button to stop the playback on the network device and return to the library on your device.
Sharing Music
You can share the music on your device using CyberLink Power Media Player.
Note: the share features and options that are available is completely dependent on the apps and services installed on your specific Android device.
To share music, do this:
- Browse to the music in the library that you want to share and then select the
button at the top of the window.
- Select the check box next to the music files you want to share.
- Select the Share on button and then choose one of the share methods in the pop-up list.
Downloading Music
You can download the music on CyberLink Cloud* or a home media network server to your local device.

To download music, do this:
- Browse to the music in the library that you want to download and then select the
button at the top of the window.
- Select the check box next to the music files you want to download.
- Select the Download button. CyberLink Power Media Player will download the selected files to your device.
The video function in CyberLink Power Media Player lets you play back the video files on your device, CyberLink Cloud*, and shared on a home media server. You can also create video playlists, share and download videos, and much more.

Viewing Videos in the Library
Select Video on the home page to open the Video window. If required, select the
button (or swipe left from the right side of the Video window) to change the location of the videos you want to access. See Media Location for more information.
Select one of the tabs at the bottom of the window to browse the videos by Folders, or by Playlists to view all the created video playlists. See Creating Playlists for information on creating playlists.
When you enter a video folder, use the tabs at the bottom of the window to sort the videos in the folder by All videos or by the Date they were created.
Note: if you want to delete videos from your device's media library, just select the
button at the top of the window and then the check boxes next to the video files you want to delete. Next, select the Delete button to finalize the deletion of the files.
Playing Videos
To begin playing a video, select it in a folder or playlist.
During video playback, the following controls are available:
- select to go to the previous video in the playlist or folder.
- select to pause playback of the current video.
- select to go to the next video in the playlist or folder.
To adjust the volume, select the speaker icon
at the top of the playback window. During playback you can also select a position on the playback process slider to jump ahead or back in the video, if required.
Select the
button to close the playback window and return to the main video window.
Select
to return to the home page of CyberLink Power Media Player if required.
Streaming Videos to a Device (Play to)
With CyberLink Power Media Player you can stream the videos on your device, and play them back on a device that is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Note: CyberLink Power Media Player on an Android device only supports the playback of MP4 and 3GP video when acting as a media renderer.
To stream videos on a home media network device, do this:

- Browse to the videos in the library that you want to play and then select the
button at the top of the window.
- Select the check box next to the video files you want to play back.
- Select the Play to button and then choose the home media network device you want to stream the videos to.
- Use the available playback controls to control the playback of the video.
Note: select the
button to stop the playback on the network device and return to the library on your device.
When playing video on the network, the following extra button is available:
- select this button to set the quality of the video being streamed to your device by selecting a display resolution. The display resolutions that are available is dependent on speed of the network connection and the resolutions supported by your device.
Sharing Videos
You can share the videos on your device using CyberLink Power Media Player.
Note: the share features and options that are available is completely dependent on the apps and services installed on your specific Android device.
To share videos, do this:
- Browse to the videos in the library that you want to share and then select the
button at the top of the window.
- Select the check box next to the video files you want to share.
- Select the Share on button and then choose one of the share methods in the pop-up list.
Uploading Videos to CyberLink Cloud
You can upload videos on your device to CyberLink Cloud*.
Note: * CyberLink Cloud is a cloud service from CyberLink that is currently only available to users who have a subscription to PowerDVD Live.
To upload videos, do this:

- Browse to the videos in the library that you want to upload and then select the
button at the top of the window.
- Select the check box next to the video files you want to upload.
- Select the Upload button. CyberLink Power Media Player will upload the selected files to CyberLink Cloud.
Downloading Videos
You can download the videos on CyberLink Cloud* or a home media network server to your local device.

To download videos, do this:

- Browse to the videos in the library that you want to download and then select the
button at the top of the window.
- Select the check box next to the video files you want to download.
- Select the Download button. CyberLink Power Media Player will download the selected files to your device.
CyberLink Power Media Player lets you view all the photos on your device, CyberLink Cloud*, and shared on a home media server, and play them in slideshows. You can also make photo enhancements, create photo playlists, share and download photos, and much more.

Viewing Photos in the Library
Select Photo on the home page to open the Photo window. If required, select the
button (or swipe left from the right side of the Photo window) to change the location of the photos you want to access. See Media Location for more information.
Select one of the tabs at the bottom of the window to browse the photos by Folders, or by Playlists to view all the created photo playlists. See Creating Playlists for information on creating playlists.
When you enter a photo folder, use the tabs at the bottom of the window to sort the photos in the folder by All photos or by the Date they were created.
Note: if you want to delete photos from your device's media library, just select the
button at the top of the window and then the check boxes next to the photo files you want to delete. Next, select the Delete button to finalize the deletion of the files.
Playing Photos in Slideshows
Select a photo in a playlist or folder to view it at full screen. Select the
button to begin playing all the photos in the playlist or folder in a slideshow.
When viewing a photo or playing a photo slideshow, the following controls are available:
- select to go to the previous photo in the playlist or folder.
- select to pause playback of the current photo slideshow.
- select to go to the next photo in the playlist or folder.
- select if you would like to enhance the selected photo. See Applying Photo Enhancements for more information.
Select the
button to close the playback window and return to the main photo window.
Select the
to return to the home page of CyberLink Power Media Player if required.
When viewing photos, select
to apply one of the following photo enhancements:
- Auto Fix - select to automatically fix all of the photo's attributes.
- Auto Lighting - select to automatically enhance lighting in the photo.
- Auto Contrast - select to automatically enhance the photo's contrast.
- Auto Balance - select to automatically enhance the photo's color balance.
Once you are done applying photo enhancements, you can:
- select Reset to undo the changes made to the photo.
- select Save to save the applied adjustments to the original photo.
- select Save As to save the applied adjustments in a new photo.
Note: to hide the photo enhancement dialog without performing any of the above options, just tap anywhere on the photo.
Streaming Photos to a Device (Play to)
With CyberLink Power Media Player you can stream the photos on your device, and play them back on a device that is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
To stream photos on a home media network device, do this:

- Browse to the photos in the library that you want to play and then select the
button at the top of the window.
- Select the check box next to the photo files you want to play back.
- Select the Play to button and then choose the home media network device you want to stream the photos to.
- Use the available playback controls to control the slideshow playback.
Note: select the
button to stop the playback on the network device and return to the library on your device.
Sharing Photos

- Browse to the photos in the library that you want to upload and then select the
button at the top of the window.
- Select the check box next to the photos files you want to upload.
- Select the Upload button. CyberLink Power Media Player will upload the selected files to CyberLink Cloud.
Downloading Photos

To download photos, do this:

- Browse to the photos in the library that you want to download and then select the
button at the top of the window.
- Select the check box next to the photo files you want to download.
- Select the Download button. CyberLink Power Media Player will download the selected files to your device.
In CyberLink Power Media Player you can create playlists of the favorite media that is on your device.
To create a media playlist, do this:
- Browse to the media in the library that you want to add to a playlist and then select the
button at the top of the window.
- Select the check box next to the media files that you want to include in the playlist.
- Select the Add to button, and then Create New Playlist.
- Enter a name for the playlist, and then select OK.
- Select OK again to close the confirmation dialog, and add all the selected media to the new playlist.
Adding Media to Existing Playlist
To add more media to an existing playlist, do this:
- Browse to the media in the library that you want to add to an existing playlist and then select the
button at the top of the window.
- Select the check box next to the media files you want to add to the playlist.
- Select the Add to button, and then the name of the playlist in the pop-up list that you want to add the media to.
Note: to remove media from a playlist, select the
button, and then the Delete button. To rename a playlist, select the
button, and then Rename.
In CyberLink Power Media Player you can customize the home media share settings and the settings for CyberLink Cloud*. Select the
button on the CyberLink Power Media Player home page, or the Media Location panel, to access the settings window.

You can turn your device into a media server by sharing the media that is currently on it with other devices on the network. You can also make it a media renderer, so other devices can play media on it.
To access the share settings, do this:
- In the Settings window, select the Home Media Share Settings option.
- In the window that displays, modify the settings as follows:
- Media server: select if you want your device to become a media server. Once enabled, you can access the media on this device from other devices on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Shared media types: select which types of media you want to share on the Wi-Fi network.
Note: CyberLink Power Media Player on an Android device only supports the sharing of MP4 and 3GP video when acting as a media server.
- Displayed name for sharing and streaming: view the name used by the media server. This helps you identify it on your network. If you would like to change the name displayed, select it and then edit the name in the field provided.
- Allow streamed content from devices (media renderer): select to enable this option if you want to use your device as a media renderer. Once enabled, you can play content that is on another device, on this device.
- Clear the allow list for shared content: every time another device tries to access the media you shared, you are asked if you want to allow the device access. Select this option to revoke all access, if required.
- Network information: select this option to view detailed information about the Wi-Fi network that CyberLink Power Media Player is connected to.
- Select
to save your changes and return to the home page.

In CyberLink Cloud Settings you can enable the sync feature, so that CyberLink Power Media Player auto syncs media on your device with CyberLink Cloud.
To access the share settings, do this:
- In the Settings window, select the CyberLink Cloud Settings option.
- In the window that displays, modify the settings as follows:
- Automatically upload new photos in camera roll: select if you want CyberLink Power Media Player to automatically upload any new photos in finds in the camera roll folder to CyberLink Cloud.
- Automatically upload new videos in camera roll: select if you want CyberLink Power Media Player to automatically upload any new videos in finds in the camera roll folder to CyberLink Cloud.
- Use mobile network for automatic download/upload: select this option if you want to allow CyberLink Power Media Player to use your mobile network connection to auto upload and download media when not connected to a Wi-Fi network.
- Account: this option displays the CyberLink ID you are using to connect to CyberLink Cloud. Select Sign out if you want to sign out of CyberLink Cloud.
- Select
to save your changes and return to the home page.
