Write permissions in EZ Gallery

Short version: Write permissions must be granted to each app individually for every folder that requires write access. Tasks such as copy and delete require write access so "Gallery EZ" will ask you to enable this permission to applicable folders. You can provide this permission to each folder or to the parent folder to include many folders at once.

Long version: Starting November 2021, Google requires ALL apps to use their new method for accessing files. For every folder accessed by an app, the user must provide explicit permission to the app. This requirement applies to both reading and writing operations. However, an exception is made for media files (images, videos) which can be read (viewed) without the user providing permission first. Tasks such as copy and delete require write access so "Gallery EZ" will ask you to enable write access to these folders.

Once permissions are granted to a folder, the app does not need to ask again. Additionally, allowing access to a folder also permits access to its subfolders. However, this does not apply to "root" folders such as the top level of the SD card or internal storage.

You can always check which folders have write permissions in "Settings//Main//Folder permissions". You can also remove permissions in the same location.
