Selecting data to hide
  • Privacy Protection is available only with the premium version of Kaspersky Internet Security on devices with an inserted SIM card.

    By default, the app hides the following data for confidential contacts:

    • phonebook entries;
    • read or forwarded SMS messages, and SMS drafts;
    • call history records.

    If a confidential contact has sent a text message, the app is configured by default to display the message in incoming text messages from this contact without showing the contact's number. If a confidential contact makes a call, the app allows the incoming call without showing the contact's number.

    You can change the type of information to hide. For example, you can enable the hiding of incoming text messages and calls from confidential contacts. In this case, the app blocks incoming SMS notification signals and calls from confidential numbers (in this case the calling party hears the "busy" tone).

    To select the information to hide:

    1. On the quick launch panel in the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security, tap Settings > Privacy Protection.
    2. Enter the secret code.

      If you forget the secret code, you can recover it.

    3. Flip the Privacy Protection toggle switch to off.
    4. Tap Settings > Information to hide.
    5. Select check boxes next to those types of information that you want to hide for confidential contacts.
    6. Return to the Privacy Protection window and flip the Privacy Protection toggle switch to on.
